Hey there! I’m Katherine (but you can call me Katie). I am a photographer based in Southern California.

I developed a love for art at a very young age. I would always try to find beauty in things everywhere I went. I got my first point and shoot camera at the age of 12 and it opened up a whole new world for me. I was able to capture images of all of the things I found so beautiful in the world around me. I took pictures of everything. Literally everything! I was so fascinated that I could capture a moment in time and keep it forever with the click of a little round button.

Ever since then, my love for photography grew and grew but it was never more than a hobby. It wasn’t until my first year of college that I took my first photography class where I learned so much about perspective, balance, and the overall flow of a photo. This really opened my eyes to the fact that photography isn’t just about capturing moments or images, but it is also a way of creating art. I got some of my close friends to let me do photoshoots with them and I practiced with them until I was able to hone in on my own individual style and technique.

I then got hired to do product photography for a few local companies but I wanted to take it even further. I started as a second shooter at weddings with my long time friend and mentor. She helped me learn the ins and outs of wedding photography and how to capture all of the moments that are so important to people on their wedding day in an artistic and beautiful way.

I try to take every opportunity that I can to learn from the people and things around me and because of this, my style is ever evolving and improving. It still amazes me that I was able to take what started out as a hobby and turn it into a career. I can honestly say that I love what I do and I wouldn’t trade that for anything.
